Re: Minecraft Server

The Minecraft Server is back up once again. So now you can log on and have some fun. The reason that it was down (or unstable) yesterday was because that we were installing plugins and configuring the Permissions plugin got us really stumped so we had to figure that out and it took a while. We installed essentials mod and a lot of stuff. Here is a list:

  • Essentials
  • World Edit
  • Wonder Guard
  • GroupManager (permissions)
  • Sponge restore
  • Runecraft
So we hope you have fun with the new plugins and use them in really creative ways.

Minecraft Server: temporarily under construction.

The Deathcon Minecraft Server is currently under (re)construction. We promise that everything will be working by no longer than 6/15/2011. We expect the server to be fixed by the end of 6/13/2011 a.k.a. today.

Please note that while you can log into the server. It is unstable as it may be going down frequently, cause you to loose the ability to build, spawn random mobs around you, and add prefixes to your name.

-- We will do a followup post when the server is working again.

Minecraft Server -- Quick Update

We are running a pre-release version of the 1.6.4 CraftBukkit Minecraft Server so you can update your client now. In the pre-release version, unexplored areas render strangely and it tends to make the server bug out. So try to stay within the already explored areas. When the final version of 1.6.4 comes out, we are going to have a real treat for everyone.

Deathcon Minecraft Server update to 1.6 -- soon

@Notch has just tweeted that Mojang has released a new and long awaited update to Minecraft. As usual, being the Minecraft fanatic that I am, I rush to the Minecraft download page to download the newest .jar when I realize something: we are now using Bukkit.

Bukkit is an exceptionally great server mod that allows plugins to be installed with ease. With the original Minecraft if you were to install a plugin (or mods as they are called in this case) you would need to edit the minecraft_server.jar file directly, whereas with Bukkit you just need to place the plugin files in the plugin folder. The Bukkit Team has to take Mojang's minecraft server file and make it Bukkit Plugin compatible, which takes time.

We will not be updating our Minecraft server until the newest version of Bukkit comes out, also when a compatible version of Runecraft, and Zombe's Mod Pack. If you intend to join our server before the aforementioned mods come out do NOT update your client to 1.6 as of right now.
